Description:
This narrow, stone-fronted town house from the late Victorian age is a culinary oasis. It’s owned and operated by French-born Bernard Lignier, who does the cooking, and his English wife, Jane, who supervises the dining room. Bernard & Jane Lignier have owned Restaurant Bosquet since 1981. The decor is light and airy with comfortable leather chairs. It seats 26 covers and parties up to 32.
Bernard’s roots are in the South-West of France where appetites take some satisfying, hence chips cooked in goose fat to accompany 3 week matured fillet of beef with peppercorn sauce. Game, fish and shellfish are also prominent on the menu.
Luxuries are integral to the style, from asparagus with truffle dressing to pan-fried foie gras served with a sweet and sour sauce. Everything is carefully prepared on the premises, from the bread to the petit fours.
