Pitches: Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth and Rocky Lane, Kenilworth

Kenilworth Rugby Football Club was founded in 1924 and after a nomadic existence in its early years moved to its existing ground in Glasshouse Lane in 1947. It currently has a split site, there being the four acres off Glasshouse Lane which currently house the first XV pitch and clubhouse and a further sixteen acres off Rocky Lane where the club have created four other pitches, one with training lights. It is the club’s ultimate aim to re-locate the clubhouse and first XV pitch to the Rocky Lane site but this can only be achieved when the current first XV site and clubhouse comes out of greenbelt and can be developed for housing.

The club currently play in Midlands One, level 5 in the RFU structure and generally run three senior sides and a colts. There is a thriving minis and juniors section through all age groups and this section has continued to supply a steady stream of talent not only to Kenilworth but to other local junior and senior clubs.

The club runs a Former Players Association who meet three times a year and one of its members, Mick Wheatley, has recently completed ‘Black & Blue, the History of Kenilworth RFC, 1924-2002’ which is available from the club.

The club has recently refurbished its facilities and has a function room which is available for hire.
