We have been sent the following information on a Kenilworth Community in Action event taking place on 10th Saturday February at the Methodist Church in Priory Road.
|In the morning:||A conference for volunteers and community groups|
|In the afternoon:||A fair for the general public to browse displays and talk to representatives of many of Kenilworth’s voluntary groups as well as attend talks and a workshop.|
|10.00 – 13.30||Talks and workshops for volunteers and community groups:|
|10.15 – 11.15||A dementia awareness workshop promoting the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends movement & Dementia Friendly Communities led by Caroline Bates.|
|10.15 -10.45||Michelle Brodie from Groundwork talks about the funding available through Tesco’s ‘Bags of Help’ and OneStop’s ‘Carriers for Causes’ schemes.|
|10.45 – 11.15||Michelle Brodie from Groundwork talks about the HS2 Community and Environment Fund which is available to communities to help with the disruption that will be caused by the construction of Phase one of HS2.|
|11.30 – 12.25||Helen Wilkinson from Warwickshire CAVA talks about recruiting and retaining volunteers.|
|12.30 – 13.00||Ellen Alcock from Heart of England Community Foundation talks about: What makes a good funding application?|
|12.30 – 14.00||Lunch: soup and a ploughman’s lunch (£5) prepared by Kenilworth Rangers and leaders.|
|13.30 – 16.00||Displays, talks and a workshop for the general public|
|14.00 – 14.30||Monica Fogarty, joint chief executive of Warwickshire County Council will talk about opportunities presented by the new Kenilworth station|
|t.b.a.||Several short presentations by Kenilworth groups to illustrate the wide range of volunteering activities which take place in the town.|
|15.00 – 16.00||A dementia awareness workshop promoting the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends movement & Dementia Friendly Communities led by. Caroline Bates.|
Refreshments available throughout the day from the hatch in the hall.
