Soroptomist International of Kenilworth
Would you like to meet with women from different walks of life?
Perhaps you feel that your circle of friends is too insular. Or maybe you find that, although you enjoy your job, it demands so much of your energy that you are becoming very single-tracked.
You would like to put something back into your community, but are unsure where to start. You would like a network of friendship and support from like minded women.
Soroptimist International could be the answer. It is about women working together for others, but also for themselves.
Kenilworth Soroptimists are actively involved in local projects including promoting young people and supporting a local Women’s Refuge. We are involved with the Kenilworth Festival, supporting events throughout. Members participate in activities for Myton Hospice, the NSPCC and Cancer Charities.
Internationally we support The Cotton Tree Children’s Trust, an orphanage in Sierra Leone, raising funds for a children’s school in Sri Lanka and a home for children in Uganda as well as Soroptimist International’s own project for the shelter and development of young women in Africa.
On the social side our events have included trips to famous gardens, wine tasting, theatre trips, musical events, eating out and special club meetings around a theme.
International links offer the opportunity for travel. Kenilworth Soroptimists have links with other clubs in Europe, Africa and Australasia. Conferences are held worldwide, with Barbados the venue for 2008.
Kenilworth Soroptimists meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month (except August), at the Holiday Inn in Kenilworth. We welcome new members.
