Richard is married to Kate, and they have three daughters, each of whom has attended St John’s Primary School and Kenilworth School and 6th Form.

Richard was born in Warwickshire and has lived in Kenilworth for more than 25 years. He is a past chair of St John’s School Governors and has been a churchwarden, an active member of Round Table and a Trustee of Waverley Day Centre and Kenilworth Uyogo Friendship Link. He is now a Trustee at theKenilworthCentre and is active with the town’s Fairtrade Group and is local NHS Patient Participation Group. Richard also created the three online ‘Friends of…’ groups for Bates Memorial, Ebourne Rec and St John’s parks.

Richard worked for 20 years in the financial services sector and for the past 13 years has been working in the not-for-profit sector. This work has taken to all parts of the UK and to Sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia. For the past 12 months Richard has been working full-time at Coventry University.

When not serving the people of Kenilworth as a Councillor, Richard can sometimes (not as often as he should!) be seen jogging the local streets and most years takes part in the annual Two Castles Run.
